Aspects of Landscape presents paintings, sculptures and installations by John Hitchens, created over a period of more than five decades. The book traces the artists’ journey from early descriptive paintings to increasingly abstract ways of interpreting landscape, reducing its forms to lines, circles and patterns. The publication coincides with a major solo exhibition of Hitchens' work at Southampton City Art Gallery in 2020.
